Hoops Capital secures funding for new Centre of Excellence

The NSW Government, Minister for Sport Alister Henskens, NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet, and Cumberland Council have today announced a combined $20 million in funding for a new Basketball Centre of Excellence and home to the Sydney King, Sydney Flames and Hoops Capital Academy.

The facility will include two state-of-the-art courts, high-performance sports science and medical facilities, a new gym, skills area and training room, recovery spaces, and enhanced media and administration facilities.

Hoops Capital Chairman Paul Smith said:

“This is a game-changer for basketball. The facility will not only be home to the Kings and Flames, but also provide Hoops Capital with a dedicated space to grow our Academy, which is providing participation, development and pathway programs for young hoopers across NSW.”
